Is there a doctor in the house? Safari users, here’s your link to today’s feature, a Q&A with Dr. Tom Bodenheimer, a Mission local, on the proposed national health care policy.

On the San Francisco health care scene, the SF Appeal reports that restaurants Medjool and Zazie have actually broken ranks with the Golden Gate Restaurant Association in a lawsuit before the U.S. Supreme Court to support Healthy San Francisco‘s mandate, which requires restaurants that employ more than 20 workers to contribute to the city’s health care plan.

While the Chronicle reported on the city attorney’s response to Supervisor David Campos’s proposed revitalization of the city’s sanctuary policy on Thursday, it appears that a confidential memo leaked to the Chron by Mayor Gavin Newsom’s office that sparked the story may have been leaked illegally, according to Paul Hogarth of BeyondChron. Supervisor John Avalos has already filed a complaint with the Ethics Commission, whose budget is controlled … by the mayor.

While Hogarth asks whether Mayor Gavin Christopher Newsom (yes we are calling him by his full name because he really is in trouble this time) broke the law, Allan Hough of Mission Mission blogs a tweeted question – Why isn’t there a Mission Farmer’s Market?

And a third question – Do art galleries plant the seeds of gentrification?

Also, Tamara Palmer gives us her much-anticipated rundown of the first ever SF Food Wars battle, mac and cheese, on Sunday. Just one look of that heaping pile of fatty, carby goodness makes me regret missing this on Sunday.

UPDATE 5:38 p.m. Oh no, I hate it when one of my favorite musicians hates on another. Can’t we just all get along? Maybe this is all just for show and she’ll secretly appear onstage for a double-encore performance of “The Greatest Song in the World,” but something tells me no. Whatever, I don’t have tickets anyway.

Also, Mission Mission asks who wants to live here? Hoarder’s Haven, you guys could all compare useless junk and your found tree leaf collection. Actually it sounds like a joke post from but that’s just my guess. Someone email and see!

If anyone’s seriously looking for a place, with some very serious, responsible MLers – and therefore, not me – I’ve got a lead on what seems like a snazzy place near 21st and Folsom. Hit me up for details.
