At last night’s police commission meeting, police union head Tracy McCray angrily accused commissioner Max Carter-Oberstone of leaking disciplinary information about an officer to the SF Standard. Carter-Oberstone said the editor of the Standard had shown their story was not based on any leaked information, but McCray said she was “too busy” to read the explanation.
In other police news, the Department of Police Accountability will review the SFPD’s data collection in response to reports that officers may be deliberately misreporting race data in traffic stops and are not audited.
Parents at Horace Mann/Buena Vista are upset about the district’s plan to split up students during much-needed renovations. Six of the nine would be sent to the June Jordan School for Equity in the Excelsior, but most HMBV families live in the Mission and want to keep all the students together at a local site.
DiFi’s casket lay in City Hall yesterday, as thousands of San Franciscans lined up to pay their respects. ย “We can say a lot of things about Diane,” said Mission organizer Roberto Hernandez, “but I never found her to bullshit me, or go behind my back.”
