A 32-year-old man was transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition after an unknown suspect approached him from behind and stabbed him near 24th Street and South Van Ness Avenue at 2:27 a.m. Sunday.

After the victim felt an “impact on his arm,” police say, he noticed the suspect running away westbound on 24th Street.

He was then transported to the hospital. No arrest has been made.


Two crimes in rapid succession befell one 35-year-old man early Sunday morning, when he was hit by a car while in the process of chasing down two men who robbed him of his wallet and cell phone.

It all started near 16th Street and South Van Ness Avenue around 4:30 a.m. when two suspects, believed to be in their 20s, approached the victim as he stood on the sidewalk. They assaulted him and took his belongings.

The victim then chased the assailants westbound on 16th Street, but fell down and was hit by the driver of a car, who subsequently fled the scene westbound on 16th Street.

The man was transported to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition. No arrest has been made, and it’s unclear whether the robbers and the driver of the car colluded to commit the crimes.


Three boys believed to be in their teens robbed a 13-year-old boy of his bicycle near 26th and Florida streets at 5:20 p.m. Saturday.

The victim was riding his bicycle when the three boys caught up to him on their bicycles and kicked the back tire of the victim’s bike, causing the victim to fall. One of the boys took the victim’s bicycle and rode away eastbound on 26th Street.

Two women between the ages of 18 and 30 robbed a 31-year-old woman near 15th and Church streets at 9:49 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was walking home when the two suspects walked up to her, pulled her to the ground, and stole her purse. The two robbers then jumped into a car and drove off northbound on Church Street.

The victim reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A 32-year-old man was robbed of his phone, credit cards, and cash by a man of unknown age near 14th and Mission streets at 2:00 p.m. Friday.

The suspect approached the man, brandishing a knife, and demanded cash. He took the victim’s possessions from his pockets and took off northbound on Mission Street.

No arrests were reported in any of the robberies.


A 59-year-old man tried to light a car on fire using lighter near 20th and Mission street at around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, but was thwarted when police placed him under arrest.

No injuries were reported.

Shots Fired

Police responded to shots fired at 17th and Church streets at around 12:58 a.m. Monday.

Witnesses told police that two cars were shooting at each other while driving southbound on Church Street, and then eastbound on 18th Street. Casings were recovered at the scene.

No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.
