After Saturday went crime-report free, it looked like the first weekend of the year was going to be a safe one for the Mission. Unfortunately, the rest of the weekend didn’t go so smoothly.

Kidnapping:

At 7 p.m. on Sunday, a 24-year-old woman was waiting for a bus at Folsom and Spear streets when she was pushed into a car. Three suspects took her to an unidentified home in the Mission. The victim managed to escape unharmed to a police station — where she filed her report. One suspect followed her and all three were taken in to custody.

Arson:

At 2 a.m. today, an unidentified suspect lit a Christmas tree on fire on Church Street near 24th. The blaze damaged a garbage can and a building. No arrests have been made. This is turning into a trend in the neighborhood in recent days.
