For those of you on the edge of your seat over BART negotiations, it appears a tiny bit of progress was made during yesterday’s talks. The unions offered a proposal that lowers their raise request from 4.5 percent each year for three years to 3.75 percent for the first two years and 4 percent in the third year of the contract.  A BART spokeswoman said they were feeling encouraged. Eater SF announced that pop-up Tango and Stache is coming to the Mission on October 19. The culinary theme is a trip through Oaxaca. The four-course dinner with cocktail pairings costs $95. Get your tickets in advance here.

Alexandra Garreton, 26, enjoys living in a neighborhood where she can use her Spanish on a daily basis. Garreton moved to the Mission in August, and has been intrigued by the welcoming nature of the eclectic neighborhood. She’s passionate about giving underserved communities a voice.
