A young man between the ages of 19 and 20 was shot at the intersection of 24th and Bryant streets around 3 this morning.

According to police, the victim was walking home with a friend when a vehicle pulled up next to them. A man in his 30s asked the victim if he was a gang member, then shot him in the head. The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza, the suspect fled the scene of the crime in a gray two-door sedan. The suspect remains at large.
