Mission Local sent a couple of reporters to Dolores Park this afternoon to see if Chicken John made good on his threat to stage a puke-in in protest of Chaac Mool, a new food cart set to open in the park next week. Chicken John and other opponents of the cart say a public park is no place for private business and they don’t want to see the city’s back yard commercialized. Proponents say a small, locally-owned business fits in with the community spirit of the park and will be a hit with hungry park-goers. Today our reporters saw no sign of puking or protest. Perhaps they’ve postponed the action for next week, when the cart opens? This weekend, it’s soft opening in Hayes Valley. We’ll keep you posted.

UPDATE: The puke-in has been postponed until 2 pm on Saturday, April 30.

  1. this puke protest is the most immature, childish, butthurt thing i’ve ever heard. exactly what i’d expect from someone like chicken john who clearly craves attention more than having any real position or coherent argument.
