A man is in stable condition today after being stabbed multiple times shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.
The victim was walking to work when he noticed a vehicle following him at the corner of 21st and Folsom streets.
Two suspects then got out of the car and began yelling at him. One suspect slashed at the man with a 6-inch folding knife, while the other suspect began kicking him.
As the victim attempted to fight back, a third suspect emerged from the vehicle with an 8-inch knife, according to the police report. The victim was stabbed a few more times before the three men fled in their vehicle.
The victim suffered lacerations to both forearms and his upper right thigh. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The motive for the attack is still under investigation. No arrests have been made.
The victim described the suspects as three males, ages 24, 25 and 28, who were driving a black, four-door, older-model American car.

This does not sound like a random attack. Hopefully the victim is providing more information to the cops than appears in this article. When personal disagreements escalate to this level, police can sometimes help. But if gangs are involved, police really cannot. Arresting or even killing soldiers does no harm to an organization which readily recruits more.
