It looks like we here in California are going to have to start taking lessons from Mexico City, which joined the ranks of cities/states that currently allow same-sex marriage today. California, can you see our heads shaking in disapproval?

Laughing Squid gives a report on some of the mistletoe that’s been randomly appearing around the neighborhood, apparently it’s all around the city. Meanwhile, Kat Malinowska at Mission Mission has compiled a handy list of the eight known mistletoe locations in the Mission District, for those who want to “unwittingly” wander under one under an awkward date.

The scene would go like this:
Guy: “hey, is that mistletoe up there?”
Girl: “yeah, I think it is.”
Guy: “oh.”
*looks at girl*
Guy: “umm.”
*looks at feet.*
*couple continues down the street*

Ok, but guys the advantage of this is that you have SEVEN MORE CHANCES!

For the new year, Muni’s resolved to close its budget hole once and for all – by raising fares even further. Come January 1, monthly fast passes will increase $15, to $70 per month, and there’s a new Muni-only fast pass that costs you only $60. There’s a schedule of other projected increases on the site as well, making 2010 the Year of the Rate Hike Bicycle.

Today’s music Monday, and the Mission District’s “Just Don’t Feel the Same” is so passe. We’ve got a new theme song, “In San Francisco” by Napalm and Erruption, featuring Goldtoes. Aside from telling us how awesome San Francisco is, it also has some cool shots of the Mission. Though they’re going to have to change about 60 percent of the song if the 49ers actually ditch us.

Watch below, but be warned, the end of the video contains some NSFW language.

Can someone please remix these two videos?

  1. Armand, that end bit looks like it was filmed on 26th and South Van Ness. Dude is standing in front of the the most ghetto laundromat in the Mission. Hands down.

The authentic crackhead action at 3:15 is just weird.
