Smitten, the Jewish-owned ice cream store vandalized last week with graffiti reading “Free Pelestien” (sic) and “Out the Mission,” plans to re-open. The owner, Robyn Sue Fisher, said the incident is being investigated as a hate crime.
The faculty union representing professors and lecturers at SF State and 22 other state schools has voted to authorize a strike if negotiations fail. The union is asking for 12% pay increases; full-time lecturers now earn $54,360 a year. The interim chancellor, who’s paid $983,000 , said that was “unreasonable.”
