Good afternoon!
Nearly 500 San Franciscans are living in RVs they bought as an affordable alternative to the most expensive rental market in the nation. Mayor Daniel Lurie’s ban on RVs means owners can sell their vehicles to the cityโbut often for much less than they paid for the homes.
For back story, see how another Bay Area city handled its RV dwellers, at a fraction of the cost.
The San Francisco immigration court at 100 Montgomery is slated to close by the end of the year, following the mass firings of immigration judges. Margaret Kadifa and Mariana Garcia report on where remaining court staff will be sent.
And a San Francisco judge has denied all arguments in aย lawsuit that sought to undo Prop. K and return cars to the coastal road. Opponents of Prop K say they’ll appeal, and some want to fight on with another ballot measure.
More soon,
Sara
P.S. Yesterday we reported that 28 people had been named to the mayor’s working group on charter reform. Today it’s been updated to 31–with two more people added from labor.
