Good morning!
Community members last night slammed Hawk Lou’s proposal for a 10-story, mostly market-rate building at 22nd and Mission, where his previous building burned in 2015, killing one tenant and displacing scores. Lou didn’t attend the meeting, but his reps got an earful.
APEC is coming: and so are several hundred cops from around the Bay Area, who’ll join the SFPD, Secret Service and other security in protecting dignitaries, handling “First Amendment activity,” and maintaining strict “zones of exclusion” around the summit.
And yes, you’re covered by the First Amendment if you want to write your own Mad-Libs-type SF Doom Loop story.
