Good afternoon!

Physical altercations, property damage, restraining orders, and generally lousy behavior have marked the battle over Parcel 36, the hotly contested sliver of land off Treat Street. Now Monkeybrains claims ownership of a sub-sliver, and immediately got private security and a new fence to keep the guerrilla gardeners out. Will Jarrett has the sordid details.

In an equally intractable but more serious matter, a city audit found mismanagement and a lack of coordination among SF’s eleven different homeless outreach teams. Another problem: when street teams make referralsโ€”especially for shelterโ€”the resources are often not available.

I didn’t notice when Juliette Stray, aka Samantha Wood, tried to legally change her name to Candi Bimbo Doll. But Joe Eskenazi did, and explains why a judge refused her request.

More soon,

Sara
