Good afternoon! Just a few quick notes:

You may have noticed it’s hard to find an affordable place to live. The city runs an occasional lottery for spots on the waitlist to get Section 8 vouchers, which low-income families can use to help pay the rent with any landlord willing to accept them. The waitlist opens October 23rd, and local organizations can help with applications.

Update: After Mission Locals story yesterday on Cruise’s plan to put hydrogen trailers near a school, a representative got back to us, saying they’d already abandoned the plan. PG&E, they said, will provide the power instead.

More businesses closing in the Mission: Jenny Lemons on 24th Street and the West of Pecos restaurant on Valencia. Let’s see what replaces them.

More soon,

Sara
