Safari users, here’s your link to today’s feature, a follow-up on Ritmo Records’s closure and what’s coming in that space.
Looks like the economic decline and housing crisis has finally trickled down to formerly hot Mission property prices, as SFGate the Green Key Real Estate corporate blog San Francisco Business Times reports that average sales prices for tenancy-in-common (where tenants co-own a piece of property) units in the Mission District have fallen by as much as 35 percent.
In politics, the Guardian has a quick rundown of the state legislature’s all-night session, while SF Weekly’s Benjamin Wachs drags the city government over the coals in his latest SF Gov InAction. Also, the SF Weekly reports that budget cuts from state funding are bad, but not as bad as they could be.
While I’m not sure how much prices have dropped on 16th and Mission, this conversation overheard by MissionMission photographer Ariel Dovas surely doesn’t help things any.

Man #2: Hah! Just making it go by as fast as possible.
Poignant as it is, that’s not the good part. The good part is the threats to urinate on the pigeons. Hey man, they’re just trying to share the alley.
The Examiner’s Mission District Restaurant Examiner (I didn’t even realize they had one) hits up La Taqueria, but more importantly hits up Phat Philly, which reminds me that it’s been well over a week since I last had Phat Philly. This will be remedied.
If you haven’t noticed the changes yet, Facebook is evolving to emulate the increasingly popular Twitter. I propose we call it FaceTwit.
Meanwhile, Plug1 finally offers up a travel report from his trip to Mexico. We hope more comes soon.
Last, you’ve undoubtedly seen the Volaris airline advertisements in 24th Street Mission BART (hey Plug1, did you take Volaris?) They’re kind of hard to miss. But, they might also want to take note of some elementary marketing advice – I know you’re advertising the speed of your flights, but best not to point them so directly towards the ground.
Also, best to show the plane in one piece.
