The nightclub legislation we mentioned on Sunday continues to get more traction since the Whisper shooting. City Insider is following the paper exchange between Supervisor Dufty and Police Chief Heather Fong, in which the Supe criticized the chief for not attending a hearing on the issue. According to the Chron’s blog, Chief Fong said the department supports the ordinances except for the part that would allow the Entertainment Commission to issue temporary permits to clubs that want to stay open past 2 a.m. Official memo to come.
