CA-11, the congressional district that Connie Chan and Scott Wiener are running to represent, includes most of San Francisco. Some southern neighborhoods (the Excelsior, Portola, Visitacion Valley and Ingleside) are a part of a neighboring district.
Congresspeople wear many hats. They write, negotiate and vote on legislation, help constituents if they run into problems with federal agencies, fundraise for their party, and more.
This week we asked: What do you think your opponent would be better at than you in Congress? What is an achievement of theirs that you admire?

Scott would probably be better at fundraising in Congress. As for an achievement, I admire his ability to consistently draw attention to his agenda.

Connie Chan is definitely building relationships with the D.C. establishment, since she is raising significant donations from D.C. lobbyists, is spending significant time raising money in D.C, and is endorsed by quite a few establishment figures who have played a key role blocking Congress from regulating Big Tech and AI.
I appreciate that Supervisor Chan has worked with Mayor Lurie on the budget. I know how important that collaboration is. Unlike Chanโs strong allies and endorsers Aaron Peskin and Dean Preston, who thrived on conflict, she recognizes the importance of having a good relationship with the Mayorโs Office.
