The November general election is about three months away, and we are ramping up our coverage.
Races we will focus on:
- California’s 11th congressional district race
- San Francisco supervisorial races
- Board of Education (school board) race
Our reporters will fan out across the city to cover these races, tagging along with candidates on their campaign trails, following the money, doing weekly Q&As with the candidates for our “Meet the Candidates” series, and more.
For the supervisorial races, we have made the decision to cover candidates that meet either or both of the following criteria:
- Qualify for the San Francisco Ethics Commission’s public financing program, which requires raising at least $10,000 from 100 or more San Francisco residents ($15,000 from 150+ for an incumbent), in donations of $10 to $100, certified by Sept. 9, 2026.
- Received endorsements by democratic clubs, current or former elected officials, labor groups, a newspaper editorial board, major local groups or nonprofits, or community leaders.
And, like previous years, we will follow the campaigns of the local ballot measures and keep tabs on the campaign finance.
