Eight people were injured following a police pursuit in the Mission District last night.
San Francisco police officers on patrol first observed a vehicle with seven passengers driving “erratically” Sunday evening in the area of Guerrero and 19th Street, according to a police department statement.
Officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, the department said, but the driver continued onward, and nearly collided with a second patrol car responding to the scene.
The suspect vehicle then came to a stop when it crashed into another occupied vehicle, which damaged a fire hydrant outside the Audi dealership at 300 South Van Ness Ave., at 14th Street.
Officers detained the occupants of the suspect vehicle, who ranged in age: The youngest was 13, the oldest 24. All seven were transported to a local hospital. One victim from the vehicle that was hit was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.
In a video released by the San Francisco Fire Department, a black sedan can be seen smashed into the Audi building, but the inside of the dealership appeared to be undamaged.
In a separate video, also shared by the fire department, a pickup truck can also be seen crashed into a parked vehicle across from the Audi dealership.
The suspect driver was identified as Jason Ulloa Vasquez, 18, of Oakland.
Ulloa Vasquez was charged on several accounts, including “willfully attempting to elude a pursuing police officer causing serious bodily injury, fleeing the police, and driving in a willful and wanton disregard for the safety of others,” according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Ulloa Vasquez was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, child endangerment, running a red light, and driving without a valid license, according to the SFPD. He was booked into San Francisco County Jail at 7:29 a.m. Monday, according to jail booking logs, and was being held without bail.
Another passenger of the suspect vehicle was identified as Pedro Enquie Padilla Ulloa, 23, of San Francisco. He was arrested for resisting or delaying arrest and battery against a peace officer.
The case remains open and under investigation by the SFPD Traffic Collision Investigation Unit.
And to think SF still bars police from making pretext stops thanks to another useless commission claiming to “protect”.

It’s a relief and a blessing no one was killed. I went by the site last night and was alarmed by how many emergency vehicles I saw there.
The Mission voted overwhelmingly against March 2024 Prop E, which allowed SFPD to expand car chases (as well as rolling back privacy protections for police surveillance). 60% of us voted No. But it passed citywide. Now the Mission is bearing the brunt of reckless, needless decisions by police to engage in high-speed chases. How is that fair? Conservative Westside residents who voted overwhelmingly for Prop E should have the car chases in their neighborhood instead of getting to vote to put our lives at risk.

Last president of the Police Commission when it had a Progressive majority due to Max Carter-Obertone’s flip which led his appointer, London Breed, to go back to the voters with a telephone book of new law further empowering the cops over the commission.
A new mayor named Lurie was busy doing what he could to get rid of Max which got rid of any valid oversight overall and it was one of the BOS’ more shameful moments when they voted him off the island.
A commission stooge had again raised the idea that all governors should be taken off of cop throttles so that they could practice their Grand Theft moves on terrified teens driving w/out a license.
Which is where one of the previous incarnations of the group generally raised a hand and said that there should be some control over how fast the fuzz drove cause some things are not worth putting the pedal to the metal and causing fatalities as is SFPD’s worst record in the state wont.
She declined to comment and now we get this and why is it always Mission cops I’ll tell you why because Lurie took a reform captain off that station commander beat and replaced her with one who considers a ‘Foot Patrol’ to mean dressing your gang up in riot gear and attacking residents on the 4th of July.
I want to see the name of the cop who instigated this ill-advised chase (was he afraid they were drunk and might crash when that is exactly what he caused them to do) …

You remember him; got drunk with one of the chiefs’ kids and beat up a gay waiter headed home from work for his dinner ?
Then, the same cop drives 90 miles an hour or so responding to a call and collides with another cop car doing the same and kills one of them.
The cops, I mean.
That’s who got killed in that high speed response.
Names don’t matter much here.
It’s the policy that matters and that was and is what allowed these things to happen.
One thing I’m pretty sure of.
There won’t be a call from the Police Commission to give this video game speed limit for cops another look.
