Police report a 17-year-old male was robbed by a band of 12 unknown suspects at Dolores Park on Wednesday between 2 p.m. and 6:35 p.m., hours when police patrol the park.

The group of 12 suspects approached the teenager in the park, assaulted him, and took his belt, phone and wallet. The band of suspected robbers fled in an unknown direction.

The victim did not give specifics about where exactly in the park the incident occurred or when, said SFPD spokesperson Officer Robert Rueca. “We would love to get specifics,” he said.

Police have been keeping permanent watch over the park since a shooting there injured three people on Aug. 3. Officers patrol the park until it closes.

“We do have officers that are assigned to Dolores, and on occasion they’ll get flagged down and investigate something that’s across the street from park,” Rueca said.

The teenage victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made.
