Police report that the Mission saw two hot prowl burglaries — that’s when someone breaks into a home while the occupant is inside — on Monday night, resulting in property loss but no injuries.

On Monday at around 7 p.m. at 21st and Folsom streets, a resident left his front window open while he slept. The next morning he awoke to find his laptop, tablet and computer bag stolen.

Similarly, on Monday at around 8 p.m., a 60-year-old man fell asleep at his residence on 18th and Mission streets and woke the next morning to find a necklace missing.

No arrests have been made, and no injuries were reported. It’s unclear whether or not the burglaries were related. San Francisco Police Department spokesperson Officer Giselle Linnane said, “There is no indication at this time that the crimes are related,” although they will be investigated by the department.
