A man remains in critical condition after a stabbing in the Mission’s Clarion Alley sometime around 8:50 p.m. on Thursday. It is unclear how the incident unfolded, but a witness called the police after seeing the victim, who is in his early 20’s, collapse in the alleyway close to Mission Street. The witness was unable to give a description of the suspect, and the type of weapon used to injure the man remains unknown.
Two Robberies
Five unidentified men and one woman assaulted and robbed a 39-year-old man near 15th and Mission streets on Thursday. The attack occurred just after midnight, as the victim was walking home and was struck from behind with a blunt object. The group of assailants then robbed the man of his cellphone and wallet containing cash, before fleeing on foot. Despite complaining of pain, the 39-year-old man refused medical attention. Police have not made any arrests in the attack.
Also on Thursday, a 40-year-old man was robbed near the intersection of 25th and Valencia streets. At about 9:18 p.m., the victim parked his car near the intersection close to his residence, leaving the doors to his vehicle open. As the victim entered his home, a man estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old drove up to the victim’s car in a van and proceeded to steal property that was stored inside of the car.
The suspect managed to obtain an LED light stand and case before being spotted by the victim, who then ran out of his house and attempted to stop the van, but fell to the ground in the process. The victim bumped his head but did not sustain serious injuries, while the robber drove off, evading arrest.
