Police report a 47-year-old woman near Clinton Park and Valencia Street at 1 a.m. on Sunday, August 7 was approached from behind by a man who then hit her in the face. The man took the woman’s purse, which also contained her phone, and fled. The woman was transported to the hospital and reported to be in stable condition. No arrest was made.
At 6:40 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to a fire on Valencia Street and Duboce Avenue, where a 30-year-old man had ignited his belongings, believing they were someone else’s. The man was uninjured, but was detained and booked into psychiatric emergency services at the hospital.
