Police report that two security guards working at a store on Folsom and 14th streets on Monday noticed a man who had stolen some personal care items from the store around 11:13 p.m.

They approached the man, but he refused to comply and a physical fight ensued. The suspect then fled on foot. Both victims refused medical attention for their injuries, and the police have not made an arrest.

Two people reported a hit-and-run at 14th and Guerrero streets on Tuesday morning. One reader wrote to Mission Local saying her friend had been hit by a dark blue Volvo while walking across the street near 8:50 a.m.

“My friend was walking [and] had the right-of-way in the marked crosswalk,” the person wrote. “The driver blew through a red light and ran over her foot, hitting the right side of her body. The doctor said the only reason her foot wasn’t crushed to pieces is because of how fast the car was going.”

The reader said they were looking for footage of the incident from local stores.

“If any stores or apartment buildings have security cameras at that intersection or else on Guerrero between 14th and 16th (where the car sped through) we are looking for footage before it gets dumped,” the reader wrote.

A police spokesperson said that the department had not received any news of a hit-and-run at that intersection.
