It’s 11:40 a.m. but these photos were taken earlier. It is now 65˚ and expected to rise into the 67˚. Details for the next ten days here.
After I chose my spot (18th and 19th, Bryant and Florida) I read on 48 hills that there are plans under way to demolish the entire block to make way for market-rate rental housing. This includes destroying a block of art, community and PDR (Production, Distribution and Repair) spaces. InnerMission, formerly CELLspace is on the block. Watch this. There will be a fight to save arts space in the Mission. Check it out.
Editor’s Note: You can also check out a recent article about the metal mural featured in these photos here.
With the light good early on, so much the better to sign on to document your block. Don’t wait! Let us know what day and block you would like at info@missionlocal.com.
You can see a map of all of the blocks here. The blocks in grey are being saved for others who have signed up. Let us save a block for you as well.
