Police report that a man called to report a shooting on Shotwell and 23rd streets at 12:27 this morning. The reporting party, a 28-year-old man, was driving down Shotwell streets when he heard gunshots. He stopped his car and looked around, and discovered an acquaintance at the scene with gunshot wounds in his leg.
The reporting party helped the victim get into his car and drove him to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Public Information Officer Albie Esparza said additional witnesses were spoken to by police, but that there is not yet a description of the suspect.
Also in the early hours of this morning, a 38-year-old man was walking across a driveway around 2 a.m. when a man in a large gray vehicle drove across the sidewalk and onto the driveway. The driver hit the victim with the car but then drove off to park in the parking area. The victim suffered a cut to his scalp and a possible skull fracture and sought treatment at San Francisco General Hospital for his injuries. Police were unable to find a vehicle that matched the car’s description in the parking area.
