Featuring national headliners alongside local talent and up-and-coming acts, the 14-year old Sketchfest has grown from a showcase for Bay Area sketch comedy groups into an annual festival with diverse programming. Along with sketches and stand-up acts, this years lineup includes film screenings, live radio events, improv and interactive performances.

Comic Harland Williams, who performed in five shows last weekend, explained, “I’m gonna be doing standup, I’m gonna be doing sketch, I’m gonna be doing my podcast, and…two other shows, one’s called Erotic Fan Art [actually called ‘Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction’] or something and then the other one’s a podium or a lecture type thing.”

The festival opened on January 22nd, and runs through February 8th. Performances are happening around the city throughout this week, including nine shows at the Brava Theater on February 6th and 7th.

Brava Theater’s Sketchfest schedule is available on Brava’s website, and tickets are available through Sketchfest’s website.
