The police arrive.

In addition to Tuesday night’s fatal stabbing at 24th and Capp Streets, three robberies took place in the Mission in recent nights. All involved deadly weapons, according to a police department crime recap.

On Tuesday night at 11:20, a 34-year-old female was near the corner of 15th and Valencia Street when a man in his 30s pulled out a knife and asked her to hand over her property. The woman gave up her wallet and the man ran up 15th Street, heading west.

Wednesday night at 11:30, two men in their 20s pulled a handgun on a group of three men and one woman. The group gave over a large collection of valuables including three wallets, a cell phone, a laptop and car keys. When one man in the group was slow to hand over his items, one of the suspects hit him on the head with the handgun. With their stolen goods, the suspects ran off, heading south on Guerrero. The man who was attacked suffered some swelling to his head and was treated on-scene.

Early Thursday morning a little before 4, a 54-year-old woman lying on the sidewalk near the corner of 15th and Julian streets was woken up by a man in his 30s with a knife. The man demanded the woman hand over her purse and money; the woman complied, but not before the suspect bruised her arm and left a cut on her finger.

No arrests have been made in relation to any of the above incidents. And as of Thursday morning, the police or Medical Examiner’s Office have not released any more information about Tuesday night’s fatal stabbing.

  1. Seems we are seeing more armed robberies by gun lately. Usually it’s a single person late a night but the group of three that were robbed above and pistol whipped when they did not comply is especially alarming. Daniel, it’s hard to tell from the article did bot the robberies occur at 15th and Valencia? BTW, that’s 3 blocks from the local police station. Think about that for a second…
