One person was injured in a shooting Wednesday at approximately 8 p.m. at 26th and Mission streets, police said.

According to Officer Fowlie, the victim was transported to the hospital by his friends.

Mission Street was taped off and traffic was blocked between 26th and 25th streets until around 9:30 p.m.

The cashier of the Stop and Shop Market corner store said he heard the gun shots and ducked, but didn’t see anything. Officers entered the store at 9:39 p.m. requesting his surveillance tapes.

“I heard about five shots,” said one bystander, who declined to give his name, “and then it was real quiet for about 30 minutes and then a whole lot of cop cars came by.” The bystander said he was at the ANSWER building when the shooting occurred.

  1. I heard that someone had also been shot at 26th around Harrison St (Garfield Park) around the same time? So confused because I have not seen much press about it. Also still a lack of SFPD presence in the 26th St area!

  2. I was working in the office of green cab and I also heard the shots. I was curious about the large gap between the shots and the police response to the location. Why did it take 30 minutes for police response from 17th and Valencia to 26th & mission?? With these techie turf wars they need to be more responsive!! I’m scared!!

  3. I heard this was part of a feud between the Google and Facebook gangs over who had the better tech buses. Just another instance of the tech industry ruining the Mission for everyone.
