A bill requiring that employers pay time-and-a-half to domestic employees who work 9 hours a day or 45 hours a week made it through the state senate Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Put forth by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco, the legislation now awaits for Gov. Jerry Brown to decide whether it will be made law.
