The San Francisco Chronicle Snitch Blog reports that San Franciscans are expected to face the longest traffic delays in the nation this weekend, with New York coming in second.

The projections come via INRIX, “a leading global provider of traffic information.” The Chronicle suggests getting out of the city before 2 p.m. or after 6 p.m. on Wednesday to avoid nightmare gridlock. On Sunday, the suggestion again is to leave early. Peak travel time is apparently 5 to 6 p.m.

Airport-wise, we have it relatively easy compared to our neighbors to the south. The drive to SFO isn’t expected to be much worse than usual, while getting to LAX in Los Angeles is expected to take up to an hour longer. San Francisco, even if your traffic sucks a lot of the time, we still love you — and as always, you make LA look like some strange joke humanity is playing on itself.
