Talleres de Poesia, Accion Latina and Brava Theater present the The 2012 1st Annual Flor y Canto para Nuestros Niños y Niñas to be held at the Brava Theater Center in San Francisco’s Mission district on Saturday September 15.
In the evening the Festival continues with a reception at 5pm that includes music, food, books, art & crafts. Beginning at 7pm the Flor y Canto is honored to have both Poet Laureate of California, Juan Felipe Herrera and San Francisco’s newly appointed Poet Laureate, Alejandro Murguia, with Masters of Ceremony Francisco X. Alarcon and Jorge Argueta. Over 30 poets and musicians well known to the Bay Area will gather to share their work in benefit for the children of this community and El Salvador, including Avotcja, Genny Lim, Lucha Corpi, Dr. Loco, Nina Serrano, Adrian Arias, Leticia Hernandez, Mamacoatl.
Tickets are $15 when bought in advance and $20 at the door.
