Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table outside 780 Cafe during Sunday Streets! It was fun to meet readers and watch people partake in the festivities.
Thanks to philanthropist Helen Hilton Raiser, hundreds of children in the Mission will get free swimming lessons at Garfield Pool. The SF Examiner reports that Raiser donated $11,500 to pay for the lessons:
The children, mostly third- and fourth-graders, will get a chance to learn their strokes at Garfield Pool, a public swimming site that is near four public elementary schools. Helen Hilton Raiser, a local philanthropist, offered to donate the money for the program as a way to improve swimming safety among San Francisco’s youth, said Rec and Park general manager Phil Ginsburg.
Curbed SF reports that the owner of Kink.com, Peter Acworth, is now renting part of the Armory building for $2 per square foot. The available space is 20,000 square feet and is located on the third floor of the building. From the item:
There’s a shared meal program available as well. Also on the website is the 3rd floor’s floorplan, which shows us that there are many, many suites available for lease if your company’s not quite ready for 20,000 square feet of Kink.com’s real estate. Ideally the space would be rented out to one tenant, but multiple tenants would be considered with a lease agreement of at least 5,000 square feet.
