Casa Sanchez Merges With La Posta

Thanks to a tip from a reader (thank you, Rob!), we found out that Casa Sanchez, the popular family-owned restaurant on 24th Street, has been closed for a little while. It turns out that the restaurant’s owner, Marta Sanchez, who took over the family business last summer after her mother passed away, recently proposed to merge with another restaurant and was accepted.

SF Weekly reports that when La Posta taqueria was evicted recently to make room for condos, Sanchez offered the owners the opportunity to merge with Casa Sanchez.

Employees at Dynamo Donuts told Mission Loc@l that Sanchez is currently remodeling the restaurant’s kitchen. Everything on the menu will change, except for the popular chips and salsa, they said.

Mission Loc@l tried to contact Sanchez but was unable to reach her.

According to SF Weekly, the collaboration will start in late May, and a grand opening, complete with mariachis and margaritas, is scheduled for early June.

La Posta was a full-on restaurant, nit just a taqueria. We’d go there before or after events at Galeria.

Not going to help them. They will be just as slow. (dead).

  3. Will the Casa Sanchez tattoos still be honored?
