During a rainy commute last week, Occupella serenaded BART passengers with protest songs at the 16th Street BART Station. The group, which sings regularly at BART stations all over the Bay Area, hopes commuters will walk away with a song in their head, or better yet, join in and sing. No one joined in that day, but many cheered and waved as they went on their way.

  1. The 24th and 16th Mission BART stations are repeatedly contaminated by pigeon droppings.

This problem is easily remedied by accurate placement of barriers to prevent bird sit sites to protect hand rails, etc, from excrement.

Because this health problem is not seen in other SF Bart Stations, I can only assume that the Mission BART problem is due to a racist neglect/refusal to provide a wholesome transportation service in this area.
