A verbal argument that started at 16th and Mission streets early Sunday ended in a violent attack with a car club.

Two 19-year-old men were arrested on charges of aggravated assault after attacking a 24-year-old man.

Police reported that one of the suspects started arguing with the victim at about 1:06 a.m. on Sunday. The suspect then grabbed a vehicle club and swung it at the victim but missed. The victim then punched the suspect in the head.

The second suspect then punched the victim. The first suspect picked up the club and struck the victim in the head.

Police were called and both suspects were arrested. The victim suffered lacerations to the head and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.
