A 41-year-old San Francisco resident sitting at a bus shelter at Mission and 16th streets received a gunshot wound to his foot at approximately 7 last night, according to SFPD.
Authorities say an officer nearby heard the gunfire and chased a male suspect, but lost sight of him. Another officer spotted a man nearby who matched the suspect’s description and detained him. Police recovered a gun under a parked car when they investigated the scene.
The victim stopped a police car at Mission and 17th streets. He was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
