A 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg on the 100 block of Valencia last night just after 10:30 p.m. The teenager was riding his bike alongside an 18-year-old male when they were confronted by two men, police said.

One of the men opened fire on the two cyclists, hitting the 15-year-old in the thigh. After the shots were fired, the victims fled to the 1700 block of 15th Street, where police attended to the 15-year-old. He was then taken to San Francisco General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made.

Mission Loc@l was tipped off by a reader who was at Zeitgeist, at Valencia and Duboce streets, on Monday night and said that around around 10 p.m., “Five or six shots rang out under the freeway underpass on the other side of the wall that borders the Zeitgeist patio. There were still several cop cars, crime tape and what looked like a white sedan there when we left the bar at midnight.”

If you have information on the crime, please contact SFPD at 415-552-4558 or text a tip using the line TIP411, or 847411.

  1. Why do these articles refer to criminal perpetrators as suspects? If someone was arrested on the suspicion of having committed the crime they are a suspect (suspect/suspicion). But it seems the kid really got shot in the leg by someone.

  2. These stories make me sad. Never ending cycle of violence. When will it end and how can we help? Incarcerating our minority youth/adults does not seem to be the answer so what is?…
