Two San Francisco residents were booked for aggravated assault on Thursday after a fight at 16th and Valencia, according to SFPD Officer Carlos Manfredi.

At around 9 p.m., a man on the street got into an argument with a passenger in a car. The passenger got out of the car and the two started wrestling.

During the fight, the victim was knocked to the ground. A Mission Loc@l reader who witnessed the fight described it as a brutal beating. “The victim was beaten, kicked and stomped unconscious,” the reader wrote.

The suspect then fled west on 16th Street. Witnesses notified police, who caught up with the suspect at 16th and Dolores and took him into custody.

While officers were on the scene, another suspect approached and attempted to interfere with the investigation. He was arrested after he assaulted an officer.

The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. He later told police that he had no memory of the incident.

Michael Duran, 31, was charged with aggravated assault. Another unidentified suspect was also booked on suspicion of aggravated assault.
