A 21-year-old man walking on Mission Street near Fair Avenue was shot in the leg at 8:02 p.m. on Thursday, according to police.

A verbal argument had taken place between the victim and the suspect, who was driving a small black vehicle. The suspect brandished a handgun, shot the victim and fled north on Mission in his car.

The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening leg wound. The suspect was described as a 20-year-old male. No arrests have been made. The case is being investigated by the gang task force.
