It’s 7:39 and 51 degrees, going to 59. Looks like a chilly but good day for Dolores Park. And there’s a lot going on — Earth Day cleanup, video games or vomit, take your pick:
Celebrate Earth Day: Dolores Park Works will hold a cleanup starting at 10 a.m., and a community picnic at noon. People will gather just north of the 19th Street stairs. Look for the green balloons.
Question of the day: Will Chicken John lose his lunch or not? He was coy with our reporter yesterday about his plans to stage a puke protest of a new food cart (and the bigger issue, privatization/commercialization of public space) scheduled to come to Dolores Park on April 30. The cart won’t be there tomorrow — it will be soft-launching in Hayes Valley. Will the puke go on without it?
Street Fighter: I don’t know that I’m grasping this entirely, but seems like people are meeting near the corner of Dolores and 20th at 1 p.m. to play Street Fighter. Organizers say to bring your Nintendo 3Ds and expect to meet “local destructoid personalities” (not that they’re ever scarce in the park, but whatever). There will be free pizza.
