U.S. ambassador to Mexico Carlos Pascual resigned yesterday — apparently he’d been unpopular with Felipe Calderon’s administration since WikiLeaked cables revealed him expressing doubts about the Mexican government’s ability to fight the country’s powerful drug cartels. When Pascual’s comments initially came to light, Calderon told the Mexican press that the people who wrote the leaked cables “put a lot of cream on their tacos.” Meaning? They’re conceited.
