A half-dozen fire trucks responded to reports of smoke and a small fire on Precita Avenue near Folsom Street at about 7:15 p.m. on Sunday. One firefighter said a small fire in a fireplace caused the smoke. Firefighters briefly examined the chimney of a three-story building, but did not use their hoses. There appeared to be no injuries.
