Ah, Chron. It pains us to see you selling your soul (in the form of a dramatically ugly wallpaper ad) to Cost Plus. I mean … lavender? And a possessed live-action bunny-devil sitting in an Easter basket with his stuffed cousin? We don’t get it. We fear for the future of newspaper journalism almost as much as we fear the mind of whomever designed that awful wallpaper.

More pressing: taxes are due. You know it, I know it, and neither of us is doing anything about it. Fix that this Thursday or Saturday at the Women’s Building, when a bunch of tax people will be on hand to help you out. The group, called Earn it! Keep it! Save it! want to help San Franciscans stop being among the tardiest tax-filers in the country. Call 415-431-1180 x 16 for more details or to sign up, or go here, here or here.

And when you get your tax refund, think about blowing it at one of the Mission’s new restaurants, including Cafe Prague, offspring from the Financial District. Mm, beer. Thanks, SF Eater. Or maybe what you need are cookies? Try Anthony’s on Valencia. Burrito Justice’s review is pretty convincing, and we always love a little homage to Cookie Monster.
