The memorial for Mission community organizer Eric Quezada took place on Sunday afternoon and followed Saturday’s opening of the community space at 518 Valencia. Formerly Abandoned Planet, the space is named for Quezada, who died in late August after a long battle with cancer. On Sunday, after the memorial, a band wound north on Valencia trumpeting his spirit.
Juan's a photojournalism major at San francisco State University. His years in the Journalism department inspired him to work on various projects abroad, covering issues as diverse as poverty in South Africa to multiple pieces in Ghana on West African music.
