Good afternoon!

Sad news: Jesus and Jhony Ramos, who graduated from Buena Vista/Horace Mann K-8 School, were killed with their step-brother in the explosion of a Yolo County fireworks warehouse last week. The school community is rallying to support their family.

Masked ICE agents pepper-sprayed, shoved, and drove through a group of about 20 protestors at S.F. immigration court this morning. Frankie Solinsky Duryea has video of an ICE officer pointing a rifle at protestors and press, shouting, “Get the fuck back!”

Marina Newman writes that the relationship between nonprofits and the city is on the rocks, as budget cuts bring layoffs at the Latino Task Force, the SF AIDS Foundation and others.

Lydia Chรกvez has part two of her report on the possibilities for architectural changes that could make a difference in the streets around Mission and 16th. See some ideas, and share yours!

More soon,
