Good afternoon—the Mission has more than enough crime news today.

Witnesses of last night’s shootout at Precita Park saw an exchange of gunfire between two men, one in a car; both fled and no injuries were reported. Neighbors reported hearing between 10 and 20 shots; bullet holes were left in cars parked near Alabama and Precita.

Witnesses of Friday’s mass shooting on 24th Street say community members stepped up immediately to help the nine victims, some ripping off their shirts to make tourniquets, others comforting the wounded until paramedics came.

Nima Momeni’s Bay Area family and five lawyers came to court this morning to hear a judge set a July 31 preliminary hearing date for charges of first-degree murder in the killing of tech executive Bob Lee.
