For the next 19 days, we have matching funds!

Good afternoon!

Two weeks into the vending ban on Mission Street, vendors at least one of the sanctioned indoor markets report they’re doing better. We look at the city’s plaza enforcement and promotional events, and the places on the street where vendors are still popping up.

A driver struck and killed a pedestrian and hit multiple cars in the parking lot outside Rainbow Grocery yesterday. Mission Local has a video of someone who witnessed the crash.

Congratulations to Eric Johnson, who won our last pop-culture challenge about what seeing Bernie Curran’s signature on a building’s inspection record is like. Now here’s challenge #7: EMPower did for the SFUSD like who did for whom? Submit your entries here: I know you want that Mission Local tote bag.

More soon,

Sara
