As more and more money floods into San Francisco elections, the city is cutting back on its watchdogs. Brandon Pho has an important story on what Mayor Daniel Lurie‘s proposed budget means for the work of the Ethics Commission.

District 9 Supervisor Jackie Fielder held the first of three town halls after her leave of absence, and jumped right in to neighborhood concerns about affordable housing and street safety. Oscar Palma reports from the Bernal Heights event.

The Excelsior is gearing up for Jerry Day, writes Xueer Lu, with a neighborhood cleanup this weekend. And over in the Mission, Clara-Sophia Daly talks with the artists restoring some iconic Balmy Alley murals.
