18 Reasons: Summer Hand Pies

July 18 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Three triangular hand pies topped with sesame seeds on a slate board, promoting a Summer Hand Pies class on July 18 from 4-8 PM, instructed by Jennifer Altman.

There is a reason why almost every culture has a hand pie. As a snack, appetizer, or sweet indulgence, the humble hand pie is perfect for a quick breakfast or to take on the go. We’ll travel the world to sample delicious pastries made with our seasonal summer fruits and vegetables. We’ll make round, rectangular, and triangular pies using tender, flaky pie dough and crisp phyllo. We’ll fill, crimp, and seal the little pastries. Once you’ve made these recipes in class, you’ll be ready to bake and share homemade hand pies with any flavors and fillings your heart desires!

We will enjoy a pie-filled dinner spread, accompanied by a seasonal vegetarian salad. Leftover pies will be distributed for students to take home!
